Red ruby colour. Aromatic nose of black cherries with elegant floral notes. On the palate, this Pinot Noir is silky and well balanced, with smooth tannins.

Wines inspired by the spirit of place – ‘L’esprit de lieu’. The wines of Terres Fidèles are created in the Roussillon and surrounding regions, a place of remarkable stories where layers of history and cultures are embedded in the raw and wild landscape.

Traditional Burgundian methods are used for the vinification – pre fermentation maceration to extract colour and perfume before tannin followed by a gentle fermentation ensure maximum varietal intensity. A relatively low temperature ferment (24°C) helps to preserve the delicate and subtle notes of Pinot Noir. 10% of the wine is aged for 3 months in new French Oak.

The Pinot Noir comes from around the village of Puicheric, close to Carcassonne. Influenced by both the Aude river and the Canal du Midi, this is a landscape of low rolling hills, shallow soils and controlled yields. The soils are chalky clay and the cooling effect of the strong northerly winds, which results in cool night time temperatures, provides ideal conditions to manage yield and achieve high quality. The results are small bunches and small berries which produce perfectly balanced, perfumed Pinot.
