Torres Santa Digna Rose

Torres Santa Digna Rose

Cherry color. Perfumed notes of plum and strawberry with underlying grapefruit aromas. Plenty of body on the palate, with smooth acidity. Elegant, sensual development toward a long finish.

Santa Digna was the name of the wayside crosses at a property in Spain. These crosses were used to mark boundaries, symbolizing good luck and protection for those setting out for remote lands. They were also used to name Miguel Torres first property in Chile and the first wine produced from this land. Santa Digna Cabernet Sauvignon achieves optimum varietal expression in the cool Central Valley Climate.

Ripe cherry color, striking, cheerful and very elegant. Notes scented with plum and strawberry (strawberry), cherry, with notes of grapefruit. In the mouth it has a good body and fine acidity. Elegant and delicate evolution with a great balance in the mouth, aftertaste refreshing and fresh.

The 2020 – 2021 vintage began with a calm winter, slightly higher temperatures than the previous vintage. In spring, frosts appear in the month of October, which lowered yields in some varieties of vineyards in the foothills of the Andes mountain range in the Curicó and Maule valleys. The summer was cool with about 1.5 to 2 cm lower than normal and at the end of January there were rains that kept us alert to avoid fungi such as botrytis. The 2021 vintage is considered cold, achieving slow maturity with good acidity and moderate alcohol

Torres Chile

Miguel Torres Chile is a Chilean winery that was founded in Curicó, in 1979, by the Spanish family company Miguel Torres. In its 230 hectares (570 acres), the Viña Santa Digna vineyard cultivates the varieties Sauvignon blanc, Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Chardonnay (for their white wines) and Cabernet sauvignon (for their red and rosé wines). To a lesser extent they also cultivate Pinot noir, which contributes to the cuvee of a brut sparkling wine.
