Our mixed cases, and bundles of wine are selected from our range of vegan wines. They represent great value, and we attempt to give you diversity as well as a vegan choice guaranteed by ourselves. You do not have to struggle to see whether a wine is vegan or not by looking at the minute print on the rear of the label. All that is doe for you and we check every item with the vineyards website to make sure that the wine is produced in the correct manner.

Do not therefore believe that all wines are vegan. They are not. The type of products often used in winemaking are shown below. Wines utilising any of these items can definitely not be classified as vegan wines.

Animal Products Sometimes Used in Winemaking:
Isinglass (from fish bladders)
Gelatin (from boiled cow or pig body parts)
Albumin (egg whites)
Casein (animal milk protein)

Fortunately, many winemakers use either vegan fining ingredients, or they skip the fining practice entirely by giving the wine some time to settle before decanting it into bottles.
Annoyingly, winemakers do not disclose fining ingredients on the label. But luckily, you can use the Internet to look up the status of most of the top brands. We are labelling the wines on our site which are vegan, however this is an on-going process. If in doubt about a Vegan Wine, you can always email the vineyard and ask. Producers often change their processes without giving the market any notice.

Estelado Sparkling Rose

Estelado Sparkling Rose by Torres Chile

Estelado Sparkling Rose

Pale pink color highlighting the fine, persistent mousse. Fruity notes (red and citrus fruits) predominate on the nose, while the wine’s fresh, wild character on the palate is typical of the age-old País variety.

Award winning blush sparkling wine, traditional method with second fermentation in bottle. Miguel Torres recovers from the past Chile’s oldest grape varietal. Grown by a large number of small farmers, the varietal ‘País’ was long forgotten and undervalued until it was recently rediscovered for making top quality wines. Each bottle of sparkling ‘País’ consumed helps to create demand and, as a result, better conditions for the winegrowers of Chile.

Torres’ concern for the environment has led to a continual process of research and development both in the vineyard and the winery, with modern organic methods being used in their Chilean vineyards. This has led to a vast amount of work being done with the Pais grape; once the most planted and important grape in Chile, with one of the longest viticultural histories. In conjunction with the University of Talca and the Chilean government, Torres Chile have been working with vineyard owners and growers to improve fruit quality, garner fair market prices for their produce and develop poorer communities that grow the grapes. What they have producedis a much-lauded rose sparkling wine called ‘Estelado’, which has been given International Fair Trade Certification.

Paulett Trillians Sparkling Riesling

Paulett Trillians Sparkling Riesling

Paulett Trillians Sparkling Riesling

A sparkling blend that is rich and generous with great length and “zing” of flavour and loaded with character. Serve chilled this sparkling wine from one of Australia’s most famous districts.

Clare Valley is one of Australia`s oldest wine regions and is probably best known for its Riesling wines. Polish Hill River is a sub-region one and a half hours drive north from Adelaide. Named after the Polish settlers of the mid 1800s, the climate is ideal for premium grape growing with a combination of consistently good winter rains, hot summers tempered by cool nights and a long ripening period.

The name Polish River comes from the Polish settlers who came to the area in the early 1850s escaping religious persecution. Paulett’s reputation for producing wines of finesse, elegance and intensity is justly deserved with consistent skill and care from vintage to vintage. Neil Paulett graduated from the Roseworthy oenology course in the early 1970s and spent a further ten years honing his winemaking skills at Penfolds before buying his own property in the Clare Valley. Located some 90 minutes north of Adelaide, this lovely property now extends to 150 hectares with 47 planted with vines. Since the first vintage in 1983 there have been many accolades both at home and internationally. These wines are a true reflection of the region and are of outstanding quality.
Tasting Notes
This unusual sparkling Clare Valley Riesling has a bright lemon colour with citrus and yeasty, biscuitty aromas with a persistant and fine mousse. The palate offers rich and lively mouthfilling flavours of typical zesty lime, pineapple, floral and honey flavours, perfectly balanced with a dry, refreshing natural acidity.

Food – An excellent aperitif and wine for enjoying al fresco, but will also prove a great accompaniment to  artichokes or truffle infused risottos.

Trentham Estate is proud to announce its continued commitment to water conservation and wetland restoration, through a new partnership with the Murray Darling Wetlands Working Group Ltd.

Trentham Estate has long strived to provide support to localised Murray Darling research activities for sustainable water supply, quality and capacity. With the recent closure of the Lower Basin Laboratory in Mildura, it has looked to another respected organisation to support during a time of much strain on the local environment. For over 20 years, the Murray Darling Wetlands Working Group Ltd has worked on wetlands throughout the Murray-Darling Basin, restoring and improving the management of wetlands throughout the catchment, of the Murray-Darling Basin.

Trentham Estate’s River Retreat label, now vegan friendly, will proudly continue Trentham’s dedication to corporate responsibility – whereby every bottle purchased of River Retreat wine will result in a donation towards the Murray Darling Wetlands Working Group.

With many great projects currently underway in the far-west region of NSW, the Murray Darling Wetlands Working Group will benefit greatly from these ongoing funds.

“We are thrilled to be able to contribute to the restoration of our precious river system and we are confident that the Murray Darling Wetlands Working Group will make a real difference within the river region.” says winemaker Anthony Murphy.
